Data privacy and GDPR compliance

Setting up users' data storage from forms to properly comply with GDPR is a common issue for devs, and we want to make it easier and save time on this. If you are already using Arengu, you may want to learn how to take advantage of this.

Personalize legal fields and easily set up data storage in Arengu, just by clicking on checkboxes to get your users' data properly protected. Let's have a look!

Non-persistence checkbox

By default, all data and submissions are stored in Arengu, and they are visible on flow's Executions tab. But you can disable this option in the Form settings section, clicking on Store submission in Arengu checkbox. From then on, no data will be saved in the editor, simply remember to publish the change

Users' IP collection

Just below submissions storage option, you will find the checkbox to enable or disable the IP collection, in the Form settings section.

It's disabled by default, but you can activate it to start storing submissions' IP. Changes will be immediately applied, just remember to publish them! Like any data from submissions, you can consult it in the Executions tab.

Legal and privacy policy field

To include this mandatory field in the form and ask users to accept your particular privacy policy, just drag and drop it from the fields menu, write and edit the text. To include bold or italic styles and links, just select the text, and the edition menu will automatically appear.

Transient fields

While the options explained in previous sections apply to all the data of each submission, Arengu also allows you to personalize form's data storage field by field.

Just enable the Transient checkbox in each field whose data you don't want to be stored. You can change this wherever you need, and it will be immediately applied after publishing, as we explained in previous cases. You can see where it is in this picture:

Masked data

When selecting the Transient option for a certain field, this value will be masked for security and privacy reasons. As you will see in your flows executions, sensitive data values will be masked to prevent your team from seeing this value.
